How long does the Character Strengths Test take?
About 6 minutes on average. The test has 24 statements you rate on a scale, and most people complete it in 5–8 minutes.
What does the Character Strengths Test measure?
It measures the six universal virtues of the VIA character-strengths framework: wisdom, courage, humanity, justice, temperance and transcendence. You get your signature strength plus your full ranking across all six.
Is my data private?
Yes. Your responses are processed in your browser. We don't sell personal data and our practices comply with GDPR and CCPA. You can request export or deletion at any time.
Can I retake the Character Strengths Test?
Yes — as often as you like. We recommend waiting at least 30 days between retakes for a meaningful comparison, since short-term mood and life events can shift your responses.
Is this a clinical diagnosis?
No. This is a shortened, virtue-level assessment based on the VIA framework — it is not the official VIA Survey and is intended for reflection rather than research use.
